Wire Wrap at DeLand Art Studio

Join artist John King at the DeLand Art Studio and learn how to create stunning jewelry through wire wrapping techniques. Students will make two unique pieces of jewelry during this jewelry making class. For your first piece, you'll use a side-drilled stone and a piece of wire. Your second piece will involve three pieces of wire and an oval cabochon. This beginner-level class welcomes anyone, though reasonable hand skills are a plus. Gem Tree Class

Join artist Linda Gordon and learn how to twist wire into a miniature tree with gemstone leaves, a unique form of metal art. Students will create a small tree that will be attached to a base for display. You will learn essential wire twisting techniques and how to incorporate gemstones to design your own miniature gem tree. Supplies for additional trees will be available for purchase. This jewelry making class is beginner level, but reasonable hand skills are a plus. All materials, instructions, and supplies are included in the class fee.

This beginner-level class is perfect for those interested in metal art; if you have an optivisor, you may want to bring it. MICROMOSAICS CLASS

Artist, Linda Gordon, will guide students in jewelry making by teaching them to create unique jewelry pieces using blank metal forms as bases for each design. This is a fun, beginner-level class. An assortment of decorative elements will be available to ‘fill in the blanks’! Learn how to attach elements to the blank and grout them into place. Silver Scrap Casting
Water and Straw Casting (what to do with your scrap silver)

What do you do with you scrap silver? Dennis Fair will show you how to take your scrap silver and do straw casting and water casting. In this class we will go over the steps to make unique silver pieces that you can use in your other silver projects. Bring your scrap silver to work with.

Cloisonne basics and wire work enamels
Sunday, September 21st, from 1pm to 5pm at the DAM studio
$100 for DAM members/ nonmembers $120
Dennis Fair will be teaching an enamel class using cloisonne wire and sterling silvber wire to make designs with enamal on pendants. Some experience working with enamels will be needed. All supplies and tools will be ready for you at the studio.

Beginning Silversmith
Soldering Basics Wednesday night.
September 17th, from 6pm to 9pm at the DAM studio
$50 for DAM members/ nonmembers $60
This class will teach you the basics of soldering. We will use torches, silver solder and copper pieces to begin soldering metal together while learning how heat flows and how solder reacts to heat.
$15 dollar fee to be paid to instructor for materials.
